Welcome to my daily painting blog 'Postcard from Scotland'.
I recently became aware of the popularity of making a small painting, that is postcard size, on a regular if not daily basis. This is both great practice and also fun to do as it doesn't take as long as a larger painting. Many artists are now enjoying doing this.
One such artist, who I had the great pleasure of meeting in Venice last October, is Julian Merrow-Smith who for the last 10 years has been painting daily from his home in Provence, France. He has been posting his paintings in a daily auction for some time now and inspired me to start doing the same. I have even won one of Julian's paintings myself, a wonderful little still life. Another artist, based in America, has not only been painting daily but created a website for others to sell their paintings through. Carol Marine founded Daily Paintworks which is the site I may be using soon. http://www.dailypaintworks.com/
